What if you could write a letter to your younger self about love?
as we grow older, we gain more experience in life. sometimes, when we look back at what we've done while younger, we wish we had known certain things earlier to avoid suffering or getting hurt. i often think about talking to my younger self, letting her know that i'm doing fine now and thanking her for being so brave. the kind of bravery she had was bigger than i ever imagined, and if faced with the same challenges now, i might not be able to handle it.
if i could write a letter to my younger self about love…
dear me,
i wish you knew that the older you is happy with a man who truly loves you, no matter what happened before. he cares for and treasures you, despite your imperfections.
i hope you can love yourself more. let go of whatever you know doesn't belong to you. when someone isn't meant to be, they never will be—not in the past, not now, and not in the future (i guess).
please love yourself more. buy the things you always wanted; eat the food and desserts that make you dance unconsciously; do the things you love, like watching series and dramas. and if you can, please travel more. there are so many things in the world worth your attention.
you have always been smart, kind, brave, and gorgeous. don't ever forget that, whether you're single or not. you've been a great daughter, a great friend, and a great sister, and that's dope.
i want you to know that whatever option you choose is the best choice you had at that moment. you are allowed to be sad, disappointed, mad, and to cry because you're human.
i’m proud of you, and you have always been great.
love,
me now
hey, you. yes, you who are reading this, what about you?
if you're reading this, this is a sign for you to embrace yourself and your past. i believe you have something to tell your younger self. trust me, you'll accept your past and love yourself more.
